Going to my dad's business banquet today.
It's called Weiya.
Companies treat their worker for a dinner, and is being hosted at the end of the year.
My grandma told me that base on tradition, by attending the banquet, the workers will find out whether if they will be hired again next year.
Usually a whole chicken will be service on the table. The chicken will be chopped up and displayed with chicken wings, legs and head. If the chicken head is facing your direction, that means you will not come back to work next year.
It's a pretty indirect yet direct way of firing people.
But in modern day, people don't do it anymore.

Back in Taiwan.
Can't believe how warm Taiwan is...
Don't need to wear a coat, yet was sweating.

Eventhough it's a Saturday. I had to wake up early for work today.
Not really like work, but more like volunteer thingy.
Some of the junior high school students were chosen to go to Hawaii for exchange & homestay. Thought that it was very lucky for them to have that chance.
Anyway, so some of us ALTs went to the civic center today to help them practice English.
Eric made the longest and most boring presentation ever... about Hawaii, since he's from Hawaii. I seriously got grumpy listening to his presentation by the end of it.

2/5
Went to the office as usual in the morning.
Since my JHS was cancelled I stayed in the office all day with Ota-sensei.
During lunch time, Ota-sensei went to Harashin to get her lunch. When she came back, she got me a birthday present. It was Anpanman chocolate box. It was in a car-shaped container with wheels too. She thought I might find it too childish, but I found it really cute!
Another present I received was from Mark. He got me 2 textbooks to study for JLPT 1.
It might sound a bit nerdy. But I was really happy to have received 2 JLPT textbooks.

After work I got back home and found flowers and present by my door. They were all from Chris. There was a card, a hand-drawn cartoon booklet, a flower bouquet, and an ipod! When I take the ipod out from the case, I found out that the ipod was even personalized.
Chris came and picked me up around dinner time. Then he tooked me to a very nice restaurant! When we finished the meal, the waiter brought out a birthday cake that Chris prepared before hand. It was green tea flavor :D
It was a perfect day <3

Recently I have many complains:
I $*%^@* HATE enkai and monikai, or anything of that sort.
Every time when I attend, it costs me 4000-5000yen.
Since I can't drink and I hate socializing with people that I don't know/ don't care, it is just a waste of money.
Thus, I am going to ban myself from attending any parties from now on.
+
Checked my bill...and my gas bill quadrupled since summer...
And water bill doubled...
It now cost me 8000yen for gas and 5000yen for water, among other things that I have to pay.
+
I have just signed a new contract for next year.
I don't know if it's the right decision to make.
Eventhough I really wanted to come back to Japan while I was in Canada, now I am kind of like... what am I in Japan.
Kind of feel useless/ bored at times doing this job.
Don't know what my next step should be... but if I am not going to be a teacher in the future...then maybe 1 year is good enough.
grahh, but I don't know if I want to be a teacher or not.
I wonder if it's more fun to teach people Chinese.
+
I am sooooooooo lost.
I am almost 23 and still haven't achieved much.
Many people I met here are older than me... they envy how young I am.
But one day I will just become like one of them who sits around doing boring stuff and get stucked with their jobs. All they could do is envy young people.

Weekend with Sota
I forgot to take a pictures with Sota >.<
This weekend Sota went snowboarding. Afterwords he dropped by Nagaoka to visit me.
Saturday night we went to a restaurant. I introduced him my friends.
Sunday, Sota wanted to go to an onsen, so I took him by car.
On the way to the onsen I followed the instruction of the navi.
As I was driving up the mountain I saw a school from a far.
I asked Chris, "I wonder which ALT teaches at that school..."
Chris said, "I have no idea..."
"yeah... this school is kind of far..." I continued on driving and wondering about the same question.
As I drove closer to the school, I looked at the school name above the main gate.
It says "Ishizaka Elementary"
I was like..."wait a minute... that's my school!!!"
Everyone laughed at me.
