Croatia 2 Day trip to Bosnia

Turkish old town on the way to Mostar.

Doesn't it look like Lord of the Ring

Recommanded vegetable soup and grilled meat finger

Medjugorje.

Croatia 1

Dubrovnik

10/4

Got really lazy updating my blog.

So... 2 months after moving to London... I am still looking for a job...
Though I have a job at this moment, I wouldn't consider it as a "real" job. This is because that this job I am doing is actually really fun! But not a good pay tho.

What is this fun job?
Ta-Da! I am a cookie icer/ decorator LOL
Even I find this job title funny.

If anyone is interested in this job, I can share a bit about what my working day is like:
- I would walk into the workshop get changed into chef outfit, everything white with aprons and hair net.
- After I got changed, I would press my finger on the finger print identifying device to check in at 9am. (I actually find the finger print thingy impressive)
- I check on what collections I am making and how much in quantity. Usually 20 or 30 tins.
- Sometimes I need to cut out the cookies, sometimes I don't
- I would have to make all the colors I need for the icing. This is the most messy and tricky part. People could complain to you if the color is too dark or too light. But it's all so subjective!
- Then I started icing the cookies and decorate them according to the pictures they provided.
- Going into a lunch break, where lunch is provided in the kitchen. Which is very nice because I don't have to make my own.
- Back to work to finish the collections.
- Make tins and package all the cookies accordingly.
- Change back to normal cloth. Press your fingure again at the thingy and leave at 5pm. I can bring home some cookies if I am lucky.

The working environment is actually pretty lay back.
Pretty everyone else is an art student, or graduated with an art degree of my age.
And we listen to music all day long while working in the studio.

The workshop

Yesterday I was making these Happy Birthday cookies

Tea at Le Chandellier

but the meals and the desserts are not that great...
Nice atmosphere tho.
There are collections of chandellier hanging on the ceiling.

8/24

This day I iced biscuits for the Biscuiteers.
I was mainly coloring in the First Aid Tin Collection.

Just before I left the kitchen, they gave me a biscuit that wasn't good enough to make it to the customers but still cute.

+

Then I went to the Victoria & Albert Museum to waste some time so I won't be bored for the rest of the day.
Gotta say the cafeteria was very impressive.

And since the weather was so nice, everyone's sun bathing in the museum's court yard.

M&M World

M&M World was recommanded by Chris brother.
So we decided to go visit.

Before going, we thought we would have dinner first.
It is very close to China town, so we decided to have Chinese food.
However, the whole Chinese food experience for me was just too disappointing.
I couldn't find anything I like, or things that I usually order on the menu here.
And apparently fried seaweed + fried prawn toast are the must haves in London's Chinese restaurants.
But you will find the fried seaweed are fake.
In order words... fried seaweeds are not made of real seaweed but fried dark green lettuce in threads.
I found it so funny! People are too scared to try real seaweed, yet wanting something oriental...

+

After the super disappointing experience to chinese restaurant, we walked to M&M.
It's 4 floors, selling everything related to M&M, from clothes to stationaries. You can also mix your own M&M chocolates. But it's a place that probably only tourists go to.
Here are some pictures.

+

After M&M it was already 10pm, but we crave for ice cream, so we walked to the Haagen Daz.
I had the resberry / hibiscus green tea / browny limited special edition :D

8/19

Today I had fun working in a kitchen studio help with the making of macarons and selling it in a market.

And this is our stall, working with Ben, who is very very good sales men and talking non-stop...lol

It's a very friendly market. Apperently people who work in the market gives discount to each other. And Ben introduced me to this Spainish guy who sells paela. The Spainish guy gave me a bow for free!

It's really interesting experience working in the market, especially when surrounded by nice people and nice weather~
