Goals of the day: Natural History Museum & Victorian Albert Museum & Sherlock Holmes Museum

Natural History Museum is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is more impressive is it's gothic style architecture. And each tile on the wall is sculptured into different designs.

+

Spent half day in the Natural History Museum. Didn't have much time as we planned.
There was another impressive building right beside the NHM, so we went inside.
It was the Victorian Albert Museum. It was also HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The VAM is more like an anthropology museum. There is a large collection of artifacts from different continents.
My favorite section is again the bling bling jewellery section.
There is 2 floors to the jewellery sections. Unfortunately, I didn't finished the other 2/3 of the section because it was time of the museum to close.

And guess what?! All those museums are FREE!!!

+
And we took a break at a colorful cafe

+
As a result... didn't get to go to the Sherlock Holmes Museum

5/8 Cultured Day

Today our goal is to visit 3 places: Tower of London & Tate Modern Art Museum & Sherlock Holms Museum

On my request list, I requested a castle. So Chris took me Tower of London, which is a castle but not the kind of the castle that I imagined.

Each different section of the castle has an different exhibition: about the prison for the criminals, about the armours, about the crown jewels, about the soldiers, about the church.
My favorite section is of course the bling bling crown jewels :D
All the crowns were kept and exhibited, but unfortunately I didn't get to take any photos.

We spent 3 hours in the Tower of London >.<

Me with weapon

People dressed like the guy in Alice Wonderland

Looks like toy house and nut-cracker

People dressing up to put on a play about treason

Statues of royal horses

Child's armor with lizard on the helmet

Next place is Tate Modern.
According to Chris, it is the biggest modern art museum in the world.
However, I have to say that Tate Modern did disappointed me a little bit.
It could be the largest modern art museum, but it seemed a little out-dated and empty.
I think the best modern art museums are the ones in Roppongi, Tokyo!

Went pass some interesting architectures on the way to the museum

+

Didn't make it to the Sherlock Holm's Museum...

At night, we had dinner with Chris' uncle and aunt at a fancy seafood restaurant.
yummy~ yummy~ Haven't been to a western seafood restaurant for a long time!
Had mussels for the starter & cod for the main.

5/7 Shopping Day

Today is shopping day.
My goal is to get some pants, tops, dresses, etc.
Pretty much my yearly supply of clothing for my next year of stay in Japan.

First, we went to Neil's Yard at Seven Dials.
There in Neil's Yard, we saw some colorful buildings.
Alex, I think you would love to take artistic pictures there.

Then, we met up with Chris' mom for lunch.

After lunch, we continued our shopping journey.
We visited the Reagent Street & Carnaby Road.
According to Chris, the Reagent Street is the most popular street for shopping.
On the Reagent Street there is this huge 6 floor tall toy shop called Hamleys.
If Tony ever visit this toy shop, it would be his paradise.
This shop made me feel like it's Christmas.

On our way back to the train station, we walked passed the National Portrait's Museum. We decided to go inside eventhough we were all exhausted.

5/6

Originally, Chris and I planned to go shopping today.
But since I was still jetlagged, we decided to take it slow and just walk around central London.

For lunch, we went to a restaurant that sells pizza and pasta.
Everyone in the restaurant all ate their pizza with knifes and forks.
Chris said it's more chic that way.

Somehow my stomach didn't feel so well ever since I got off the plane, so for every 5 mins we walk, I had to take a break.
Good thing the weather was nice, so we got to enjoy the nice scenery while resting.

Due to my bad condition, we ended our day early and took the train home.

Covent Garden

London Eye & River Thames

Big Ben & the red bus

5/5 Flight to London

This morning Sota dropped me off at the train station, so that I can take Narita Express to the airport.
I was extremely lucky to get a good seat. My seat was like this:

[Window seat (no one)][Middle seat (no one)][Aile seat (ME)]

Therefore, I was able to take over all 3 seats to myself and lying across as if I am the queen of flight BA6.

I had 2 meals on the flight.
1st meal- the flight attendant asked me "would you like chicken or meat ball"
I said "meat ball please".
When I opened it, it was chicken meat ball...
2nd meal- the flight attendant asked me again "would you like vegetable or pasta"
I said "pasta please".
When I opened it, it was vegetable pasta...

Sota, the great Japanese thinker said:

sushi --> trangle

ramen --> oval

gyoza --> round

takoyaki --> 3 dots ...

He also said:

"Life is like curry, Japanese way is better"
