Summer trip with Tony & Tina - Sado Island

We got on the ferry to go to Sado Island. Bought the cheapest ticket without seats.
We all looked like we are refugees.

Traditional boat ride

Sado Island is kind of creepy. We didn't really see any children on the streets. Most old people will hunched backs.

We stayed over night in an onsen hotel on the island. Tina seems to be facinated by the name board. I used my name to book the hotel, so my name was hung outside the hotel.

The next day we visited the mining museum before you left the island. As we walk through the tunnels, there were moving mannequins. Kind of freaky.

Sado produces lots persimmons. I ended up eating lots persimmon sorbet :] yum~

7/18

Took a small trip to this sweet shop.
It is in the country side, selling mostly dango.
Inside the same shop, there are 2 tiny cafes. One is western style, the other one is traditional style.
We picked the traditional one, and had our tea time there.
Looking out the window is the relaxing view.
Chris picked green tea parfait, and I picked green tea shaved ice :D

Kite Festival

There was this Kite Festival in Nakanoshima.
Mark invited to see the kite battle.
2 teams from each side of the river make their own kites. They have fly the kite once the kites from each side meet up in the sky, they have to try to attack each other and pull the other party's kite off the sky.
